About

The builder behind Mjengo School.

Construction finance, taught from real Kenyan sites — not theory. This is who you're working with when you use a calculator, fill a brief, or book a session.

I teach construction finance.

I'm Miano Muthii. I've spent years on Kenyan construction sites — building, budgeting, correcting expensive mistakes, and documenting all of it. Mjengo School is where that experience becomes tools you can use: calculators that price real materials, briefs that prepare you for your architect, and straight answers about what building in Kenya actually costs.

On YouTube I break down real projects — what a three-bedroom bungalow really costs, why precast isn't as cheap as advertised, when interlocking blocks make sense, and how people lose money before the foundation is even dug. The lessons are free. The tools go deeper.

Why Mjengo School exists.

Most people build once in their lifetime, and they do it with more hope than information. Fundis quote, suppliers price, and the owner has no independent number to compare against. Mjengo School gives you that number first — so every conversation on your project starts from an informed position.

How to work with me.

Start free: run a calculator, watch the videos, read the blog. When your project gets serious, unlock the full breakdowns, fill the Architectural Brief before you sit with an architect, or book a consultation — online, at the office, or on your site.
